TOPIC - HUMAN AGENDA/PLANNER

This is the first "topic post". Which means a discussion on a subject that's introduced in the post, and discussed in the comment secion. First ever topic:

TOPIC # 001: The Human Agenda/Planner

Wouldn't it be cool to have a mnemonic room/peg/loci/substitute image for each day of the year? You would then have a way of easily setting up a mental agenda/calendar.

Everytime you needed to record an appointment: no need to use an app or even pen and paper. (Imagine if one started to use this ever day. I think the sheer use would help in increasing your general brainpower.)

But more than an agenda, you could use it as a diary. This could be especially interesting for kids, perhaps, to give tham that tool, which could also increase attention spans. What did you do yesterday? What happened on th 7th of June last year? It could be a fun way to train memory. I underline the fun here, as there is no need, of course, to force kifs to memorize trivialities.

Another way of thinking about this is to record world events for that day. This is ideal for teen-agers from 14, 15 and up, I should think. Imagine the over view of world affairs someone whos used such a system would have...

Perfect for kids, but also great for grown ups. Don't most of us need to learn more?

One way of looking at this is to find an mnemonic image for each an every day. December 25th could be an image of Santa Claus. New Years Eve a bottle of Champagne. 1st of May a Worker Union flag, 4th of July Fireworks, but then what ...

How anyone can make a giant memory palace in just a few hours time

As mentioned in a few earlier posts I've recently had the idea of extending the Major System.

The Major System is one of the first systems of mnemonic we learn when starting. And it's a brilliant system as it can turn numbers into words, which in turn can be words that are easily visualizable so that we can use them to represent the keywords we wish to remember.

But the second use of The Major system has gone largely unused. And it has to do with using it as a memory palace with its pegs.

In The Major System, each number from one to one hundred is an object that is easily visualized. Each number represents a consonant/phoneme, and words are made accordingly.

By linking one of these numbers to an object representing a keyword you want to remember, you've created a mini memory palace.

The "room" is the number. By linking it (in a mnemonic visualization) to the object representing the number, you've created a mnemonic structure that is easy to recall. By learning all objects from one to one...
